Antarctic Rookery
Schouten Island Pass, Freycinet National Park, Tasmania, Australia
Okay this shot was not really taken in Antarctica... but I thought the colours, rock forms and overall feel of this image promoted a very icy, laid back scene from the drier parts of Antarctica.
I however was unable to identify the specie of birds depicted in this photo - I am led to believe they are Australasian Gannets? Anyone who is able to verify that it would be greatly appreciated.
Photo was taken from a moving boat moving slowly through Schouten Island Pass, a small body of water which divides Schouten Island from mainland Tasmania (Freycinet Peninsula).
