MOONRISE AT MUNGO

Walls Of China, Mungo National Park, New South Wales, Australia

The full moon rises while the sun sets simultaneously at the ancient sandstone rock formations known as the Walls of China at Mungo National Park.

I have never seen the moon rise while the sun sets at the same time (or maybe I have never paid attention to it). The moon was shot with a telephoto at the same time the sun was setting, but it set further east than I had hoped, so I used a little photoshop to place it where I wanted it.

Wow, this looks like a sci-fi landscape--even the moon looks foreign and unusual. Great capture. =)

seen such situations, but in town so not really good for a splendid photo like this. that's what HDR is used for imho, and from what i've seen it's tough to make one like this so it looks natural. fantastic!

It is a very impressive shot to say the least and it doesn't look like HDR has been used at all.

But it must be a combination of two images because the moon would not look that big if it was shot with an 11mm lens. Did you shoot the moon separately with a telephoto lens?

Put this in the photomanipulation section and try to be up front about your images.

Its very beautiful, but its not real.
